Sandwiched between Hollywood Land and Cars Land is a modest corner dedicated to the Pixar classic, A Bug’s Life. If you’re a big Walt Disney World fan, think “Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground”, only bigger, with several children’s rides. It’s shaded by a host of 3-leaf clovers and one 4-leaf clover. Look around to see if you can find it.
Flik’s Flyers is a simple spinner ride where objects such as Chinese food take out boxes become your ride vehicle. Francis’ Ladybug Boogie is a small attraction seating only a few, and spinning them around in a figure 8. Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies is a classic bumper car ride, located under an oversized umbrella. Princess Dot Puddle Park offers a water-type play area, while Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train offers a journey through oversized portions of animal crackers, watermelon, candy corn, and other foods. You don’t have to be a pre-K child to enjoy these attractions, but you may need to muster your inner child within you to enjoy them without a toddler in tow.
The biggest, and curiously most overlooked, attraction is just off of the main entrance into this land. It’s Tough to be a Bug is the same identical attraction as the one found in the center of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The only difference is that it doesn’t have a colossal Tree of Life as its home. It doesn’t help that the attraction is often taken out for film previews and other events. That may be a hint of things to come, as rumors suggest that this land may become part of a larger Marvel offering in the park. Time will only tell, but in the meantime, take advantage of this section of the park while you have the time.
