Walt Disney World Photo Services: A Comprehensive Guide for First Timers

Navigating the world of photo services at Walt Disney World can be overwhelming for first-time visitors. Terms like Photo Pass, Memory Maker, and Capture Your Moment may leave you feeling confused. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll demystify these services, ensuring you make the most of your Walt Disney World and Disneyland vacations.

Photo Pass Services

Let’s start with Photo Pass. Photo Pass is the photo service offered at Disneyland Resort in California. It’s important to note that sometimes the term Photo Pass is used interchangeably with Memory Maker, which can create confusion for first-time visitors planning their Walt Disney World trip.

Memory Maker Photo Services

Memory Maker is the photo service at Walt Disney World, allowing you to capture magical moments throughout your vacation. You can purchase Memory Maker for a single day or for the duration of your trip. Adding it to your Walt Disney World Resort package at least 3 days prior to your vacation can save you some money compared to purchasing it after you’ve seen all those adorable pictures you’d like to keep.

Magic Shots

Walt Disney World boasts photographers stationed throughout the parks, as well as a dedicated photo station at Disney Springs. These photographers can capture regular photos at popular spots like the Tree of Life or Cinderella’s Castle. Additionally, they can take photos with most character meet and greet locations. Don’t miss out on the “magic shots” – special photo graphics that add extra fun to your family photos, making your vacation at Walt Disney World even more memorable.

Ride Photos

In addition to all the above, Memory Maker also includes your ride photos from attractions that capture pictures. These candid and often hilarious ride photos capture priceless expressions on your family’s faces. It’s an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Seriously, who could pass up this gold?

On top of all of this the service also includes your Capture Your Moment photos should you choose to purchase a Capture Your Moment appointment separately. Let’s look at this next.

Capture Your Moment Photo Services

Capture Your Moment are 20 minute private photo sessions with a Disney Castmember. Time slots can be booked at select times in select parks.

These time slots can be booked 60 days in advance by your travel agent. Whether you’re doing a surprise engagement in front of Cinderella’s Castle or family reunion (up to 8 people) in front of Spaceship Earth, these photos are magical. Capture Your Moment cost about $79 per 20 minute session booked at time of this article. Photos are NOT included when purchasing Capture Your Moment, but are included if you have purchased Memory Maker separately.

As a Walt Disney World first timer all of the terms and names can be extremely confusing. I’m hoping in writing about these topics help you to be better informed when working with you travel agent on planning your magical vacation ever!

Conclusion

By familiarizing yourself with the various photo services offered at Walt Disney World, you can capture and preserve magical moments during your visit. Whether it’s through Photo Pass, Memory Maker, or Capture Your Moment, take advantage of these opportunities to create lasting memories of your unforgettable Walt Disney World experience.
